Rolex Watches

Posted by The Queen Bee at Friday, April 30, 2010 0 comments
As May approaches, I am thinking of making a wish list for my birthday and plan to do an entirely separate post about it. As early as March, my sister has been asking me if a watch would be fine with me. I said with an astounding yes but on one condition, it has to be a watch of my choice from swiss-wrist.com. I am hoping to get one of those Rolex watches though it wouldn't matter when.

Online Advertising

Posted by The Queen Bee at Tuesday, April 27, 2010 0 comments
With the advances in technology and communication, it's no longer surprising that candidates in the coming election take advantage of online advertising. It's a fact that our country ranks highly among top users of social networking sites. Hence, building an online presence will definitely help them get more votes.

Online advertising is not as complicated as one thinks because at simply.com, for instance, a company or an individual merely has to enter their target keyword, region or budget to be able to advertise online. It's as simple as that.

15 Days to go: Go out and vote

Posted by The Queen Bee at Sunday, April 25, 2010 2 comments
Yay! It's fifteen days more and Juan Dela Cruz is going to cast his vote for the first time in an automated election. Are you ready to vote and do you know what to do when you get inside the polling precinct?

I have yet to make a list of people I am going to vote but like everyone else, we have worries about the coming election but we are hopeful though that everything will be alright. The change we want must begin with us. So on May 10, let's do our share in making our nation a better one by casting our vote. Most importantly, let's pray for a peaceful and honest election.

I missed American Idol last night

Posted by The Queen Bee at Thursday, April 22, 2010 2 comments
How could Casey James have slipped my mind last night? That was a real boo boo for me. American Idol, again for the second time, almost escaped my used-to-be photographic memory earlier tonight until I had gone channel surfing out of boredom and saw Ryan Seacrest on the screen. I would have hit myself for missing the star-studded episode tonight for Idol gives back.

It was heartwarming to see and know that celebs, despite their status, take time to help the needy. The performances were awesome, Mary J Blige was really great when she performed Stairway to Heaven, it made me love that song even more. My favorite gorgeous Alicia Keys also sang Empire state of mind but it seems she was having some problems with her voice. I can't wait to sing this song on my next videoke escapade.

It was a long night on American Idol tonight and I'm glad I was able to catch it. I was quite nervous then when Casey James was among those in the bottom three. Honestly, I would have wanted Aaron Kelly to be booted out but it seems like he has a pretty good following. Too bad for Turban fans, he had to go. As usual, my favorite Momma Sox is still as good as ever. Now, everyone's excited to see who's going to be the next American Idol.

As for the memory gap thing, I now perfectly remembered that we had to go to my cousin's graduation party. She finally earned her degree in Food Technology from University of the Philippines here and I am so proud of her because she got an award for having the best thesis. It's some kinda genetic thing, you know.(Ahem!) Hahaha! juz kidding!

The Lazy Driver

Posted by The Queen Bee at Tuesday, April 20, 2010 2 comments
I am driving again after several months of being away behind the wheel. I used to be so confident with my driving skills then and was so excited to drive when our car was new and because I had just acquired the skill. The excitement primarily came from the fact that driving was a new thing to me that I enjoyed it easily. It gives me that feeling of control whenever I am on the road. But then I got too tired of it easily too. On the road, one gets exposed to a lot of unpleasant things. These are the things that got me tired of driving, the long and exhausting traffic that a driver has to go through everyday in a busy city, undisciplined drivers that drives you nuts and thoughtless pedestrians who don't give a damn.

Those things are reality once you hit the road but everyone's got to face them. So, in as much as I would like to retire my driving shoes, I can't seem to do so. It's either I drive or I deal with annoying taxi drivers just so I could get to my destination. I hate commuting in jeepneys too because I am allergic to smoke, I only get to do that on rare occasions now. I still prefer to ride in a taxi because for one, it's airconditioned and two, I don't get to inhale carbon dioxide.

But the real reason behind my qualms in driving mainly streams from the fact that our car, being a few years old now, is acting up. We have already had it overhauled and re-painted just so we could determine which part causes the problem. I am lucky enough not to be caught in mid-traffic because the engine stopped running, and that's because I am too lazy to drive that I don't get to use it. hehehe.... Last Saturday, I almost lost my cool when it starts to feel as though, it would stop and I am in an intersection and the light just turned green. Thank God, the engine didn't die on me. I am thinking that it could be the tires so I am looking for a Tire Review right now so I could fix this problem. Our car's really been trying to get some attention the past few months. Sigh!

Bunk Beds for Kids

Posted by The Queen Bee at Sunday, April 18, 2010 2 comments
It has been a long time since I have done blog hopping to see what other bloggers are up to these days until I got to this blog that did a review on Mom's Bunk beds for kids. The blogger's review was done in a way where she shares with her readers her personal experience with the product itself. I believe it is this kind of review that makes it believable and thus convincing for readers to try the product themselves because the blogger is speaking from her own experience.

Anyway, what got me reading the whole post until the very end was the fact that I was able to relate with the topic because as a young kid, my sisters and I used to sleep on a twin bunk bed. It definitely brought back fun memories as a kid and I think that sleeping on a bunk bed is one happy experience that every kid should have. So if ever I do have my own kids someday, I will surely be buying bunk beds for them so they won't miss the fun. The review on Mom's Bunk House was really a good story to share and I had a nice time reading that post that I made an effort to post a comment to let the blogger know I enjoyed her story.

Let's count our blessings

Posted by The Queen Bee at Sunday, April 18, 2010 0 comments
I am again on the brink of getting lonely and depressed. When this happens, things really turn out bad because I get so negative to the point of feeling deprived and so unfortunate. So before that happens, let me switch my own paradigm and see the good things that make life worth living. This is a random post so let me count the random things that I derive happiness from recently. I hope there turns out to be as many things on my list. And let's start counting:

1. Yesterday, I was able to drive again after more than a month.
2. The good thing is, the car did not malfunction the whole time I was driving it.
3. We saw a cute and lovable, black K9 at Marco Polo's parking lot yesterday.
4. It's raining today.
5. I am glad to stumble upon my sister's stock of photos.
6. I am happy that my other blog has a PR 3.
7. I had my armpits waxed the first time and it felt great.
8. After several months, I got to eat KFC's original recipe chicken.
9. I am excited about my future travels.
10. Thank God, I have a job.
11. Thank God for wonderful sisters.
12. I had fun watching Clash of the Titans last Sunday.
13. My dog Max II is such a joy to be with.
14. I am happy that I get to update my blogs more these days.
15. There's a number of good opportunities for my other blog and it's enough to keep me smiling.
16. Casey James is so handsome. Thank God he's on American Idol.
17. My birthday is near so I am again thinking of things I want for my birthday.

Whew! I am sure there's a lot more on the list but I am having grumbling tummy right now so off to the kitchen I go.

My pooch is catching up on me

Posted by The Queen Bee at Saturday, April 10, 2010 2 comments

Max II, my chocolate brown labrador retriever had his trip to the vet clinic yesterday afternoon for another shot of heart guard, vaccine against heart worm infections. The vet says, dogs can get it out of mosquito bites. It has been raining several times the past week so our basement is filled with water again and that causes the attack of the pesky mosquitoes again.

Max II tipped the scales yesterday and he now weighs 36 kgs. at 8 mos. old, he's 2 kgs. overweight according to his doctor. I guess dogs have their own way of knowing it because I have observed that Max seemed to have put himself on a self-imposed diet the past two weeks. He hardly finishes his meals and would seem so excited to go for early morning walks. Like his owner, he's been trying to shed off some extra poundage.

I only wish he knew though, losing weight is not an easy feat. It takes a lot of hard work and even more lots of self-control. I can manage to meet the hard work part but I surely fail on the self-c0ntrol part.

Two in a month

Posted by The Queen Bee at Friday, April 09, 2010 1 comments

Unlike most of my friends who have a growing number of godchildren on their list, I have a few. Last month was remarkable, however, because I stood as a godmother to two sweet little angels on two succeeding weekends. All of my godchildren in the past were all boys but this time, I had two girls. Shopping for presents this time was more fun and exciting because I am shopping for two baby girls. I didn't realize that it was actually fun to shop for little girl's dresses.

On a serious note, the pastor pointed out that a great responsibility comes when one becomes a godparent because it is somehow an act of co-parenthood. As godparents, the lives we lead should be a good example to our godchildren because we are tasked to make sure that they grow up to become good Christians and good individuals as a whole.

Being the good people that they are, I am confident that my friends will make good parents and that I have no doubt that they give their precious daughters the best upbringing that they could ever give. To Louise and Eclair, I pray that you grow up to be wonderful and God-loving women.

Didi Benami says goodbye to American Idol

Posted by The Queen Bee at Monday, April 05, 2010 0 comments

Last Thursday's elimination round in American Idol Season 9 was very emotional not only for Didi Benami herself because she was the one who was booted out of the competition but also for her fans.  Didi was among my early favorites and I hate to see her say goodbye to the competition.  I honestly thought that it would be Tim Urban who is going to be eliminated that night but everything came as a surprise.  It seems like Tim Urban has quite a good following considering that he has been consistently in the bottom three.  I agree with the judges though that Didi seems to have lost her way as the competition gets tougher.

Crystal Bowersox always never fails to impress us with her talent.  Last week, she showed us that she's got more for the audience by showing us her piano skills.  I can say with so much confidence, like I always did,  that she will definitely be in the top 3 finalists.  Meanwhile, Siobhan Magnus' is beginning to be so predictable and with her screaming episodes.  I really think that her last performance was terrible and it didn't go the way I expected.  That song of Chaka Khan is one of my favorite songs and I thought that she could have done great with that song considering her tone.  I guess everyone has his own share of bad days.  But I am glad that Andrew Garcia is finally back on track with his great rendition of Chris Brown's Forever.  Thank Usher for the guidance.  As usual, I am anticipating eye candy Casey James' performance and I can't wait until it's Wednesday once again.  My only wish would be to see him do some Lenny Kravitz number because I think he's equally hot.

Photo Hunt #38: Sweet

Posted by The Queen Bee at Saturday, April 03, 2010 9 comments

Sweet temptation, these Ferrero Rocher chocolates are to me.  Once you start munching on one, you can't help but take another one ball of chocolate goodness.  Never mind the Ang Pao beside the chocolates because this was taken on mom's last New Year's Eve with us.  My mom is such a staunch believer in rituals to attract good luck and prosperity on New Year's day.

Ferrero Rocher chocolates are quite expensive so I don't get to buy them all the time.  Aside from that, chocolates are a spoiler when it comes to weight loss.  I easily add on extra poundage whenever I binge on them.  Since they are sweet, they best qualify for this week's Photo Hunt theme of Sweet.

Blog, slightly refurbished

Posted by The Queen Bee at Saturday, April 03, 2010 0 comments
For months, I have been thinking about the direction this blog is going.  Though it has been stripped off its previous page rank of 3, apparently because of lack of updates and fresh pages, I love this blog and I never see myself parting with it.  Closing this blog, thus, was never an option.

So after much careful consideration, I decided to change the title as I no longer see it appropriate for this blog.  In retrospect, Chatterbox was simply a product of my thoughtlessness, more of a "spur of the moment" thing because I started this blog for the wrong reasons (yeah, you know what I mean) and maybe that explains the utter confusion. I originally intended this to be a place where I could write about my favorite stuffs but rants and raves got in along the way.

In an effort to make things more organized here, I have added some words below the title to describe what this blog will be about.  So in case I stay out of topic again, I am giving you the license to shoot me. (kidding!).  Of course, it's not in my nature to be predictable so we'll take it on a day to day basis.
