Pacquio vs Hatton: Who's the More Complete Fighter?

Meanwhile, let's see the tale of the tape for both fighters and you decide for whom you'll place your bet. Personally, I have always believed in Pacquiao's abilities and I have seen him transform from a cocky fighter without a strategy during his blow by blow days to the brilliant and intelligent fighter that he has become today.

Swine Flu: Why it's Something to be Scared About
How swine flu that passed on from human to human is still a blank wall but it is believed that people who work with swines are susceptible to contacting the disease but it is rarely passable from one human to another. So it is believed that the strain that is causing this swine flu outbreak has mutated.
The swine flu outbreak is not something new because there have been several flu outbreaks in the past that have plagued the world and have caused millions of deaths among people in the whole world. Historically, most fatal and destructive outbreak was in 1918-1919 where there was an outbreak of the spanish flu which caused a pandemic that caused 50 million deaths all over the world.
Having heard those scary facts, our best defense would be practicing good hygiene. Make washing of hands a conscious habit, drink plenty of water and get enough rest and do some exercise.

Photo Hunt#14: Protect
The photos above are taken at the site where the Battle of Mactan took place. Mactan, Cebu is a place that is very historical because this is where the first Filipino in the person of Lapu-Lapu, repelled European agression by fighting the Spaniards led by Ferdinand Magellan on April 27, 1521. Lapu-Lapu and his men were more than willing to give up their lives to protect their land from foreign invasion. For those who may not know this, the Philippines is under Spanish colonization for three hundred years.
About a year and a half ago, I visited Cebu for the first time and even if our stay there would be very brief as we were only staying for a day, we took time to visit this place where a national hero was made and where an important event in the history of the Philippines took place. It reminded me to take pride in being a Filipino, a race of brave and patriotic people. This is my entry for this week's

Wipe those Wrinkles Away
Another good thing to thank about is the fact that I happen to discover a site that gives away Free Wrinkle Cream so that means that preparing a budget for it is not a problem anymore as of this time. It's a wake up call of sorts for me to not be affected with other people's actions easily as it will only take its toll on me and my health.

A Break from Monotony
After so long, I've been able to break the routine out of my monotonous life. Though, it still has something to do with work, I was able to immerse myself in a different environment and surrounding as we went to visit defaulting borrowers. It was unusual how I managed to last the whole day with a pesky migraine headache when I woke up in the morning. I guess the paracetamol I took really worked. It was challenging because apart from the torturous heat of the mid-day sun, of which I was no longer used to for months now, there was this one arrogant man whose brain is probably as hard as that of an elephant's trunk. Thanks to dad, for supplying the word.
Late in the afternoon was the fun part for at long last, after months of hoping to finally get to National Bookstore to have my mission accomplished. For months now, I have been setting my hopes to get a handy dictionary and a new book to read. I bought a new handy dictionary but honestly, I am a bit frustrated with it as I have been searching for some words that I couldn't find there. But the best part of it all, I was able to get hold of Brida, a book by Paulo Coellho. Then off we went to canvass for gowns at a nearby shop in Gmall where we also get to pass by Milk & Co. where my sister signed up for membership. It was a tiring day but I was glad that it was different from the past days and the past weekends.

Photo Hunt #13: Purple

In today's weddings, things such as color motifs are carefully thought of. I particularly like the touch of purple in this beautifully crafted wedding invitation. Purple is one of my favorite colors and incidentally, it is this week's theme for Photo Hunt. Check out more

Web Hosting For My Chatterbox
There are different ways by which one can avail of a web hosting service. There are free hosting services just like this blog is making use of, there is also a dedicated hosting which most professional companies prefer. There are actually a lot of choices available out there that it makes it difficult for a beginner and a lot less techie individual like me to absorb everything. Being able to compare each of these choices against the other is beneficial because it enables me to evaluate my web hosting needs and single out which one would best suit my needs.
To make this story short, my point is that I have been thinking about getting a domain for this blog. Forgive me but it really takes me a very long time to think about something especially if it demands decision-making from me. So, will I finally be making the big leap from blogger? That remains to be seen.
Happiness is Happening
I woke up earlier than usual today. More than two hours later, I feel glad that I have accomplished so much over the past two hours. It was a relief to finally finish off all those curtains and bed sheets after two days. It's amazing how we get so much joy out of the small and simple things we do. Two more free days to go before getting back to the jungle, there are still a few tasks that I wish to do and that includes:
- going to the grocery (again).
- wash my two pair of sneakers.
- clean my room.
- organize house bills and my mom's medical records
- press my clothes.
- come up with a good post (I have a couple of things in mind).

Bedtime Stories
This time, I opt to get one that is made of wood. I went searching online for some beautiful wood furniture. I saw this Sunrise Top Queen Sized Bed at Scenic Furniture and found it to be a good choice since it will blend well with my bedroom's design. I have always had queen-sized beds ever since because I always toss and turn whenever I find it hard to fall asleep. However, I still want to have more choices to choose from so the hunt for my new bed has not ended yet.

My Eyes Defy Me
My First Attempt at Triple Draw Poker
This game is so new to me since as I have mentioned in my recent post, I am just beginning to learn how to play poker. For beginners like us, she opted to teach the a-5 lowball card game wherein the best hand in this game is the A-2-3-4-5. She said there is another variation which is the 2-7 lowball which I guess uses the cards 2 to 7 as the best hand. But that's only how far I can manage to absorb this poker game. I don't know but maybe my comprehension skills with regards to card games is relatively poor. Expectedly, I lost in all five games that we played. I need a lot of practice so to speak. I guess the myth about beginner's luck doesn't work for me so better try my luck next time.
Nonetheless, it was a fun way to end the night. After all, it's going to be another day in the office tomorrow which will surely be another toxic day considering that it's going to be a long holiday starting on Thursday.

Photo Hunt #12: Stripes

Speaking of presents, an old friend who already migrated to Canada two years ago came to visit me in the office yesterday and she told me she'll be dropping by again next week to hand me my presents. Guess what it is? Victoria's Secret goodies again! It seems like it's the official pasalubong (gift/present) from friends and relatives abroad.

Next Project: Learn How to Play Poker
I know a few card games, one of which is the one that's popular here in our country which is the tong-its. But unlike tong-its, poker has several games. There are specific poker games and there are also mixed games. What's even more interesting about it is that strategies can be learned such as the 8 game strategy which is also called the Block Method. I guess that if I were to learn how to play poker, I better start with the 7 card stud rules which I heard is the easiest to learn.
Going back to my DVD marathon this evening, I have just finished watching two movies tonight. It's quite an accomplishment for me, thanks to the long vacation next week because I am hoping to finish all the other seven movies that I still have to watch.
