Leah and Joemari's Wedding

Posted by The Queen Bee at Monday, December 29, 2008 2 comments

The ber months were kinda hectic for me but I never get the chance to share them with you. So gradually, as I free myself up during the longest work break there ever was, I am starting to organize pics of activities that I have been to during the past weeks.

Last December 18, 2008, my officemate and friend Leah tied the knot with long-time beau, Joemari in a simple garden wedding held at the Waterfront Insular Hotel in this city. It was raining that afternoon but heaven was kind enough as the rain stopped in time for the ceremony. It was a long-anticipated wedding with the couple being together for ten years already, it is but the right time to finally say I do.

It was also a reunion of sorts because some officemates have been relocated to other branch and some of whom we haven't seen again until that night. My very good friend and former office mate, Elsie who's on a vacation from the US was also there. It was a long night for me being tapped to play one of my typecast role of a bridesmaid. Hope, it will be the last one. Haaay! Above is a slide of some pics I took.

It's December 25 and while everyone is so busy with merrymaking, I am taking some time off to greet everyone of you a very merry Christmas. Though some of you may be a bit conscious about your calorie intake already but in the spirit of Christmas, it's okay to indulge this season. Just be sure to shed off the extra poundage after the holidays. I, myself can't help it either, especially that I am blogging here at the dining room. I can manage to snag some helping of salad and pasta once in a while. Well, who cares? It's Christmas, so we have every reason to binge. :-p

PhotoHunt# 3: Wide

Posted by The Queen Bee at Monday, December 22, 2008 1 comments

Here's my third entry to Photo Hunt. This picture was taken during our flight to Manila last November. One can't help but be awed by the sight of the view from the top. It's a really, really wide world and it makes me realize that I am as small as a dot in this world that we are living. Yet, no matter how small and unrecognized a person may be, he has the power to make his mark in this world.

Thankfully, I wasn't experiencing motion sickness that time so I was able to enjoy the view from above. It really amazes me how God really works wonders. Our creator is truly a magnificent God.

Merry Christmas

Posted by The Queen Bee at Saturday, December 20, 2008 1 comments

Merry Christmas Everyone! I just realized how long I've been away from blogging when nobody seems to visit this blog anymore. I've been through a lot of activities lately that I find that I no longer have the strength to update my blogs lately. Too much has been going on in the different aspects of my life that I almost even forgot that it's going to be Christmas next week. I haven't even done my shopping. I started doing tags given to and a lot of them left undone since I didn't have time to do so. Gosh, I panicked when I can't even seem to figure how to create a link to another site correctly. See my previous post, I don't know why some of the words get underlined. Anyways, in time for the season, I have changed my layout with a Christmasy theme. Have a Merry Christmas and eat healthy.

Nosebleed

Posted by The Queen Bee at Saturday, November 15, 2008 3 comments
I am not satisfied with my blog's look and feel again. So, you're guessing it right. I am again thinking of changing it. I'm just gonna leave it as it is temporarily while I hunt for something that will suit me. I'm having problems with blogger right now as I cannot add a new gadget nor rearrange my widgets. I can't change the background's color too because the font and color tool won't appear. I'm having a nosebleed right now because the more I get obsessed with this. Hay naku, better take some rest.

A Day in General Santos City

Posted by The Queen Bee at Saturday, November 15, 2008 0 comments

Yesterday was one helluva tiring day for me and my friends in the office who are going to the CEO cup this coming November 28.
Although, it was not our fondest desire to go to GenSan yesterday just to do some practice for the said sporting event, we were left with no choice as we are lesser mortals. So we just thought of it as an adventure and a chance to do some picture taking while on our way to General Santos. It was raining heavily yesterday because typhoon Tonio was strolling around this side of the Philippines. So expectedly, it was foggy up in the mountains. We stopped by Cliffhanger, an inn and a restaurant located in Malungon to buy some biscuits and a bottle of water. Of course, not without some picture-taking of the breathtaking view of the vast verdant foliage below. I have always wanted to see the view here during our first trip to GenSan but I just didn't have the chance

We arrived in GenSan at 1:30 and proceeded to look for some place to eat. Not knowing where to go next, we decided to check the court where we will be playing and it turned out everybody was already there. We ended up training and playing with full stomachs at 2:30pm. I thought I'm gonna throw up everything I took in for lunch. It was awful. We were on our way home to Davao then at 5:30pm and had dinner at Chicken Ati-atihan in Digos City at 8:00pm. We arrived in Davao City at 9:45pm.

By the way, we had to pay for all our expenses. the meals and the water we needed during the practice. Our meal allowance for that trip was slashed. Melot, you're so lucky it's your birthday!

Changed my Template Again!

Posted by The Queen Bee at Saturday, November 15, 2008 0 comments
I just happened to spend nearly the whole day changing templates until I finally settled with this one because I got tired already. Just when I was about to save all the changes, I figured that my blogroll was deleted. Goodness, I was so careless that I was able to save a back-up of everything except that one. Don't freak out yet! I have listed them in my notes so I will be adding them later here.

For now, I am still learning how to configure my header image.. hahaay..I should have just slept the entire day. My eyes are swollen out of staring at the computer the whole day. The worst part of it is having achieved only little because I spent the whole time fixing things. grrrhh...

Bouncing Back

Posted by The Queen Bee at Thursday, November 13, 2008 0 comments
I was planning to do some nice posts here and in my food blog after being missing in action for a couple of days. But see, unfocused me once again got enticed to change my layout but for some reason that I haven't figured up to now, I can't seem to save my new three-column templates after several attempts. I haven't encounter this problem before. What drove me to change my mind again about this template? Well, as you may have noticed, the date is not visible, that's all! That's what's eating my OC self for a few nights now. grrrhh...

So much for that, I missed blogging and I have found a renewed passion for it (as of press time)... hehehe.. I hate making conclusive statements, knowing me.. My attention span is as volatile as my..hmmm.. not my temper really but my moods (I don't have MD ha! like the one that me and my friends in the office know, hala!). Judging from the way this post is going, you can very well say that I am exceptionally bubbly tonight, you guess it right! I have a renewed love for chatter too after being so silent for a long time.

And by the way, did you know that just last night, I was so depressed that everything seemed so gloomy no matter how I try to put some sense into everything. Now in a snap, I'm bubbly again. It really made me think of something. I got tired of sulking so I just decided to change my mindset. It felt better..

People come and go. This is true in our case, the photo taken during our division's christmas party last year. It was a fun-filled night where there were lots of fun games, singing and dancing and delicious food to devour.

Several people in this picture are no longer here with us because some have chosen to go to the other side of the world where the pastures are greener. We surely miss them for they have become a part of our lives. Nonetheless, we are happy that they took the bold step to make their lives better. I am looking forward to see my good old friends again.

Seeing things with Clearer Vision

Posted by The Queen Bee at Wednesday, November 05, 2008 0 comments
Every payday is a rant day for me because it always reminds me that these are the hard times. It seems as if every time I do my grocery shopping which I normally do every other two weeks, there is an increase in prices of commodities. Now, who wouldn't see any reason to complain when one's capacity for spending remains constant when his expenditures on the other hand is steadily increasing? Thank goodness that oil prices dropped the past weeks which allowed a fifty centavo decrease in jeepney fare. I wonder when they'll take back the additional ten pesos add on rate for taxi fares because I really find that too unfair for passengers. Ten pesos is already a big amount.

Since there's not much we can do about changing our economic situation since we are affected by the global economy as a whole, all we can do is exercise some frugal measures by which we can cut back on our spending. This can be as simple as walking to work instead of commuting or recycling items which can still be used. Personally, I have been planning to cut back on the expenses I allot for disposable contact lenses and thought about wearing eyeglasses instead. I figured that I will be able to save much out of that. I realized that there are actually very affordable eyeglasses that costs as low as $8 like the ones I discovered at Zennioptical. If only we are much more conscious about our spending habits, our money can really go a long way.

Heaven must have heard my silent prayer hoping that the waters will be calm and I will be spared from turbulent tides as we go dolphin watching in Bohol exactly about a year ago. Unknown to many, I fear crossing vast bodies of water because I feel helpless when everything that my eyes can only catch sight of is the horizon that separates the water and the sky. For the record, my trip to Bohol was by far, the longest boat ride I have ever had in my entire existence on this planet. It was something that I consider as a feat considering that I endured a two-hour boat ride with a litany of all the saints and angels to help me get through the whole ride. This was taken on our way to Balicasag Island where we had lunch and spent time enjoying the bounty of the seas at the marine sanctuary. The experience was worth it. By the way, this is my first entry to .

Blogging Got Me a Laptop

Posted by The Queen Bee at Friday, October 31, 2008 4 comments

Wala lang. I just want to flaunt it (read:wake-up call for my friends). Fresh from the MBS2, I was amazed at the enormous sum of money that some bloggers are earning through their blogs. Stories like how blogging gave them the financial capacity to buy expensive things that one could only wish to have before or how blogging helped them build their dream house can be inspiring. But just like any business, blogging requires an investment. For one, it's the time that you devote to it. So just like any endeavor, with success comes hardwork. I must admit though that I slack off once in a while.

Happy Halloween Everyone!

Posted by The Queen Bee at Friday, October 31, 2008 1 comments
It's Halloween and everyone is in the mood for spooky things. In our office, there was a Halloween Trick or Treat for kids yesterday afternoon where there were around 150 kids who participated in the event. They feasted on kiddie foods which adults like me also enjoyed with much gusto. In fact, I had three trips to the hotdog station not to mention the time I spent at the chocolate fountain.

Kids also received several loot bags from the different stations that they stopped by before finally heading to fairyland where much more fun begins. They were also treated to a magic show where kids were really amazed with each trick that they saw.

To make the mood even more attuned to the occasion, we also had our work areas designed to a particular spooky theme. The one in the picture above which depicted a scary cemetery won first place. Everyone had a spooktacular time yesterday, kids and adults alike. It's good that even for just one day, I can be like a little kid again.

The Lessons of Mindanao Bloggers Summit 2

Posted by The Queen Bee at Wednesday, October 29, 2008 0 comments
Anyone who took part of the recently concluded 2nd Mindanao Bloggers Summit in General Santos will readily agree that it was a fun and memorable event. Apart from the event being free, sponsors as well as organizers were generous enough to give the participants the best experience possible.

The Summit was a feast, and I mean both literally and figuratively. Bloggers were treated to a sumptuous tuna cocktail and dinner that's truly a delight to one's appetite during the fellowship dinner where we were also entertained with an engaging dance presentation from Teatro Ambahanon. That surely left the audience with their eyes popping and jaws dropping. The day after the Summit, we were toured around some of General Santos City's attractions by our gracious hosts. It was indeed a plethora of good memories.

But hopefully, Mindanao bloggers will not forget the most significant lesson of this year's Summit. Like what Mr. Bobby Timonera said, we can help change how the world sees Mindanao. That Mindanao is a beautiful and peaceful place and not the War Zone that it is constantly depicted in the news.

For Women 30 yrs and over, Pls. Read

Posted by The Queen Bee at Wednesday, October 22, 2008 3 comments
I found this from my friendster bulletin that's worth a few minutes of your precious time. Please read along..

For those who are not 30 yet, (OR THINK YOU'RE NOT)- you've got something to look forward to.

THIS HAS BEEN WRITTEN BY A MAN.

This is for all you girls 30 years and over.... and for those who are turning 30, and for those who are scared of moving into their 30's...AND for guys who are scared of girls over 30!!!!...

This was written by Andy Rooney from CBS 60 Minutes.

Andy Rooney says:

As I grow in age, I value women who are over 30 most of all. Here are just a few reasons why:

A woman over 30 will never wake you in the middle of the night to ask, "What are you thinking?"
She doesn't care what you think.

If a woman over 30 doesn't want to watch the game, she doesn't sit around whining about it.
She does something she wants to do. And, it's usually something more interesting.

A woman over 30 knows herself well enough to be assured in who she is, what she is, what she wants and from whom.
Few women past the age of 30 give a d**n what you might think about her or what she's doing.

Women over 30 are dignified. They seldom have a screaming match with you at the opera or in the middle of an expensive restaurant.
Of course, if you deserve it, they won't hesitate to shoot you, if they think they can get away with it.

Older women are generous with praise, often undeserved. They know what it's like to be unappreciated.

A woman over 30 has the self-assurance to introduce you to her women friends.
A younger woman with a man will often ignore even her best friend because she doesn't trust the guy with other women.
Women over 30 couldn't care less if you're attracted to her friends because she knows her friends won't betray her.

Women get psychic as they age. You never have to confess your sins to a woman over 30. They always know.

A woman over 30 looks good wearing bright red lipstick. This is not true of younger women.

Once you get past a wrinkle or two, a woman over 30 is far sexier than her younger counterpart.

Older women are forthright and honest. They'll tell you right off if you are a jerk if you are acting like one!
You don't ever have to wonder where you stand with her.

Yes, we praise women over 30 for a multitude of reasons. Unfortunately, it's not reciprocal.
For every stunning, smart, well-coiffed hot woman of
30+, there is a bald, paunchy relic in yellow pants making a fool of
himself with some 22-year-old waitress.

Ladies, I apologize. For all those men who say, "Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free". Here's an update for you.

Nowadays 80% of women are against marriage, why?

Because women realize it's not worth buying an entire Pig, just to get a little sausage.

Hehehe... Peace Men!

Clean Up for this Blog's Links

Posted by The Queen Bee at Friday, October 17, 2008 1 comments
For a month or so, I have observed that there's a lot of missing backlinks here. True enough, there were a lot of blogs that are in my list who did not add me up to their links. There are actually some bloggers who ask for link exchange with you but don't even bother to add you up in their links. That is just so unfair, right? In my case, I have taken note of those bloggers. After doing my clean-up, I have deleted have of the links on my list. I'm so happy to have gotten rid of them. It's probably one of the reasons why I lost my PR here.

As for those who have linked to me but I haven't linked them here, please leave me a note here so I can add your blog here. I will do the update as soon as I can.

Davao Bloggers Networking Night

Posted by The Queen Bee at Thursday, October 16, 2008 2 comments
After a few months of being around the blogosphere, I am so happy that I finally have the chance to be part of not only one bloggers eyeball event but two. I have already posted here last month that I was one of the lucky 100 participants to get a slot to the 2nd Mindanao Bloggers Summit in General Santos City next weekend. The other good news that I received from Ms. Janette Toral the other night is an invitation to the Davao Bloggers Networking Night this coming October 21, 2008 at the Grand Regal Hotel here in Davao. Me and my blogger friends are surely giddy with excitement as this is going to be a first time for all of us.

Great Confections

Posted by The Queen Bee at Monday, October 13, 2008 0 comments
Great cakes I stumbled upon at Brides.com's cake gallery.
Admit it, your mouths got watery just right when you caught a glimpse of these sinfully inviting, beautiful pieces of artistic confections.

Mine did! But honestly, I like looking at them more than taking a piece of them. These cakes are equally delightful to the eyes as they are to our palates.
Cake making and decorating is a hobby that I would love to try my hands on. Being a person who has a great passion for beautiful things, I like doing crafts for my own personal satisfaction. I like seeing and making beautiful things. And beautiful cakes are one of them. Someday, I would love to make a masterfully decorated cake of my own. When I was still in High School, I have already tried baking a cake but that was just for a beginner which means it is a basic and simple cake. I am also thinking that it could also be a good way to earn some extra cash.

Cheap but Delicious Donuts

Posted by The Queen Bee at Friday, October 10, 2008 0 comments
While waiting for my mom to arrive here in our favorite meeting place, yes, it's Mister Donuts in Victoria Plaza, I was bitten by the shutterbug and decided to take snaps of the food counter. This must be the umpteenth time that I have taken a picture of those donuts. I don't know, but I just love looking at them.

I have just discovered recently that Mister Donuts has been founded since 1950's in North America and was the biggest competitor to Dunkin Donuts. Here in the Philippines, there has been quite a few names in the Donut business who are slowly building their own niche in the market. Krispy Kreme and Go Nuts! Donuts are some to name a few. But we, from Davao City only get to taste it as a pasalubong from friends or loved ones who have been to Cebu or Manila.

I doubt that those names will flourish in Davao though, at this point in time, knowing that being a Davaoeño myself, we are used to having affordable prices for our food. This is why food chains like Mister Donut will survive here because for a price starting at Php3.oo, you can buy a donut (it's just a smidget though).

A Valuable Gift from my Dentists

Posted by The Queen Bee at Saturday, October 04, 2008 0 comments
For several years, I have been wearing braces and so every saturday is a date with my dentists since there were two of them. The other one is my orthodontist who makes sure that my teeth were making progress and the other one is where I go to for oral prophylaxis and dental filling. My dentists have a good number of patients that it would take me several hours waiting for my turn to take the dental chair even if I am scheduled for an appointment. This has always been the scenario everytime I go to the clinic.

This observation made me realize the burden of
professional liability on their shoulders or on any of those professional practitioners for that matter. Medical and dental practitioners, more particularly, have greater responsibilities because they hold a patient's life in their hands. Since these people are not God, they are prone to commiting mistakes and these mistakes can be very costly because it puts their reputation and the patient's welfare at stake.
To prepare for situations like that, getting a professional liability insurance would seem to be the
best option. There are several professional groups that are sensitive enough to provide protection if ever one is charged with malpractice. A good example of these professional groups is a Dental Society Risk Retention Group called Eastern Dental Insurance Company. It is a company which is put up by dentists themselves that likewise caters to the insurance needs of dentists only. As such, EDIC knows very well the needs that a malpracticing dentist may have and thus the insurance that they provide are designed to address these needs. Who knows a dentist's needs anyway but a dentist himself.

Going back to my dentists, I have so much to thank them for because I have finally overcome my fear of going to the dentist for a huge majority of my life. But that one decision to have braces was my first step to overcoming that fear.

My Favorite Food: Veggies

Posted by The Queen Bee at Friday, October 03, 2008 0 comments
Our foods today are mostly laden with fats and preservatives and we know that it's not good for the body. As much as possible, it is always best to stay away from preserved and processed foods like noodles and hotdogs and start eating real food that are rich with nutrients and the ultimate source for it would be vegetables.

Personally, I have always preferred to eat vegetable dishes than fast food. From my personal observation, there's a big difference from getting satisfied out of eating fast food and out of eating real foods. Try to compare eating burgers and french fries against eating vegetables for lunch or dinner and observe the feelings of satisfaction you derive from the two. After eating from a fast food chain, one feels full but bloated and sluggish compared to eating veggies where one feels full but light. This is only based on my personal observation. Others may not agree with this but one thing I am sure, vegetables are the best food for detoxification.

I know quite a number of people who doesn't like to eat vegetables but mind you, it's best for your health. This is not a myth but a fact.

A Tag of 30 Questions

Posted by The Queen Bee at Friday, October 03, 2008 1 comments

It's been awhile since I got tagged, thanks to Tes for this nice one. I really enjoy answering get-to know you questions. The last time I did it was with my sisters when we bought a book entitled Kokology which is a series of questions that one has to answer by choosing from a set of answers. The answers then has equal analysis of one's personality. It's truly a nice game of self-discovery and a nice bonding activity with friends and family too. Anyway, here's the tag and for those who want to do this too, you know the drill.

1. what’s your latest addiction? - Blogging.
2. What are you listening to? - The sound of our washing machine.(nanglaba ko karon).

Some Things Come Handy

I realized the value of a Phone Book earlier today when I needed to make an urgent call to a client who called me the other day. But unfortunately, I wasn't able to jot down his name but only have his number registered in my received calls inbox. Thank heavens, my reliable online phonebook saved me from an embarassing predicament. All I needed to do was search the owner information of that number.

The Price of Beauty

Posted by The Queen Bee at Friday, October 03, 2008 0 comments
Even with today's economy, it's pretty amazing how people would still spend a grand amount for pampering. As of this writing, I am in a salon making good use of my time while waiting for my mom's pedicure to be done.

A while ago, I was bored until I saw a woman whose having a semi-rebonding treatment done on her hair. I can't help but be envious of her newly restored shiny and beautiful black hair which used to be dull and lifeless a couple of hours back. As if trying to consider having the same thing done to my hair, I stood up to take a peek at their price list. In almost an instant, I came to my senses when I saw the figures. My Gosh! there's no way I am going to spend that much for a little dab of hair wax. But honestly, it was so tempting that I am trying so hard not to give in. Thankfully, I was able to heave a good sigh of relief because my mom's finally done. So 'til here for now.

Say Goodbye to Bulky Phone Books

Posted by The Queen Bee at Thursday, October 02, 2008 0 comments
Talking about phone books, I am so relieved that these days, we never have to scour through the pages of those bulky telephone books anymore just to look for a telephone number in those tiny texts that one can hardly see with the naked eye. One of the wonders found in the internet gives us the capability to perfom Phone Book Search through National Online Phone Book. This greatly reduces the time one spends looking through thick telephone books.

This is my Blog of Choice Today

Posted by The Queen Bee at Thursday, October 02, 2008 1 comments
I am neglecting my other blogs today as I am focused on this one. I am thinking about another make-over here since this template does not cater to the plans that I have laid for this one. But I am wary as this might compromise some important features here. I am getting tired of this color too. Hopefully, I'll be able to find another good one. I am reluctant to look for sites that offer free templates because I tried doing some search yesterday when I got this warning from yahoo that there are flagged sites which sends unsolicited emails. I didn't click those sites but still I got some spam mails when I checked my inbox today. Better be careful next time.

Report Unwanted Calls

Posted by The Queen Bee at Thursday, October 02, 2008 0 comments
I bet everyone will agree that it's so frustrating to get calls that you thought were important business calls but only to find out that it's just one of those nuisance calls from someone who apparently has nothing to do but harrass other people.

Thankfully, there's a project called Phone Lookup Investigator that's been launched recently which aims to give users a venue to share their experiences with unwanted phone calls. If you are one of these people, report those numbers right now.

Another afternoon of food trip at the Picobello which is located in the 5/F of Gaisano South Mall. While waiting for our orders to be served, I took a shot of the building across GSouth. I remember several years before, this street used to be the center of gimmicks and nigh life happenings until Venue and other bars came into the picture. Now this place seems to be an unlikely place for someone to hang out at night.

Online Phone Book

Posted by The Queen Bee at Thursday, October 02, 2008 0 comments
I found another useful site where users can get information about a phone number in 50 states through a Reverse Phone Book. All that a user needs to do is to enter the phone number he or she wishes to get information about and he or she will instantly get results for it by providing the last name, address and the state of the owner. This will surely be bad news for prank callers.

I Love Durian - but not this one!

Posted by The Queen Bee at Thursday, October 02, 2008 0 comments
My sister went home last September and without prior notice, her flight was delayed for about an hour. So while waiting for the plane to arrive, my parents and I decided to go for a stroll around the airp0rt and take some photos.

One of the more prominent edifice in the premises of Davao International Airport is this huge surreal piece of art depicting a huge durian fruit with heads of people popping out. I have always borne the mark of a true taga-davao because I am a hard-core durian addict. But I would surely pass on this one, I find this one creepy. No offense meant for this artwork and its creator but people who know me knows that I have a peeve for anything that comes in swarms. Eww... like the heads of these people. They know it reminds me of...well, they know it. hehehe.

Find People with Locator Services

Posted by The Queen Bee at Wednesday, October 01, 2008 0 comments
As we grow up, we tend to become too engrossed with so many things in our own lives that sometimes we lose touch of family members or good old friends. Only then when we realize that they can no longer be found. This is how things used to be when finding a loved one or an old friend would mean starting from scratch without no clue to help us. However, there is now a higher probability of finding people through People Locator Services. All that one needs to do is type the name of the person being searched for into the search field and one will get results in an instant because they can locate people around the world.

Which Calls to Take

Posted by The Queen Bee at Monday, September 29, 2008 0 comments
Almost everyone in our generation today have cell phones. However, there are those who are irresponsible enough with its use that they like harrassing other people with prank text messages or calls. This can be infuriating especially for those who lead a busy life. So the best solution to this problem would be Reverse Cell Phone Lookups. In a while, one will be able to track cell phone numbers. This way, one will also be able to determine which calls to take.

New Blogger's Guide

Posted by The Queen Bee at Monday, September 29, 2008 0 comments
I dove into blogging with blind eyes. That meant that I really had no idea back then how to do it. All my friends told me was to log on to free hosting sites where I can make my own blog for free. And so I dared to make one armed with only my common sense to help me get through it.
Somehow, I managed to make a blog.

As time went on, I was able to add few knowledge until I got the chance to see this one great site that helped me a lot in many ways. The site is intended to help new bloggers and in every way, this blog has helped many bloggers. I thank the authors of this site for they're a blessing. Thanks!

Dream Car: BMW

The BMW is probably one of many people's dream car. In our place, there are only a few BMW cars thus everytime people see one pass by, it never fails to get an admiring look. But because it is an imported car, BMW Parts are not available here This explains why the easiest way to order for it is through online shops that sell BMW parts like myhotbmw.com

Favorite Time of the Day: Bedtime

Posted by The Queen Bee at Friday, September 26, 2008 0 comments
Another day is about to end and so my favorite time of the day has finally arrived. It's time for a sweet and peaceful sleep. I deserve one right now after a hard day at work today and after losing several hours of sleep to a rowdy gang of teenagers last night who were having a drinking spree at a small cafeteria right across our house.

My bed is ready and my oh-so-fluffy pillows are waiting for me. Just needed to make this quick post though as I am missing the chatterbox in me for a couple of days now. Hope you too will have a great relaxing sleep that's free from distraction. Don't let the bed bugs bite! Nytnyt!zzzzzz....

Dating and Religion

Posted by The Queen Bee at Wednesday, September 24, 2008 0 comments
For some people, religion is a major thing to consider when dating and eventually in choosing a lifetime partner. I know several catholic people who also want to date and marry somebody who is also a catholic. However, for those who engage in online dating, knowing whether the other person has the same religion cannot be easily identified. Hence, catholicmates.com has opened their website to address this issue. Their site is specifically intended for catholic Dating .

Game 2 for Ateneo vs. La Salle

Posted by The Queen Bee at Wednesday, September 24, 2008 0 comments
Tomorrow is going to be another big day for UAAP fans as Ateneo Blue Eagles and the De La Salle Green Archers slug it out in Game 2 for the UAAP Men's Basketball Championship. Everyone is excited to watch the most colorful and longest-standing rivalry in Philippine collegiate history. As what has been the case in the several times that these two schools' duel in the past UAAP seasons, celebrated personalities from both politics and show business are expected to be seen in the games.

Naturally, I root for the Blue Eagles for obvious reasons. Ateneo emerged triumphant in Game 1 and hopes to clinch another win tomorrow. Unfortunately, it's a weekday which means I won't be able to fully concentrate on the game because there is work. Hahay, I just hope the Eagles will spread their wings wider.

Fire Ant Bites

Posted by The Queen Bee at Monday, September 22, 2008 0 comments
I just got bitten by ants a few weeks ago and I began to worry when the blisters won't go after a few days. So I searched the internet about the harm that ants might cause to one's health. I found this site about fire ants and got a good amount of useful information. I learned that fire ant bites can be life threatening in some cases therefore as much as possible it is always best to prevent one's self from being bitten in the first place.

Breakfast

Posted by The Queen Bee at Monday, September 22, 2008 0 comments

I am not a breakfast person. That means I only have coffee or a piece of toasted bread in the morning then I am good to go. This is because I got used to always being in a hurry to catch up with the bundy clock. hehehe...

Whenever mom cooks delicious breakfast though, I would gladly indulge as it is not in my character to snob food. This one looks yummy so I better park here and go grab this one. Have a good day!

Online Dating Sites

Posted by The Queen Bee at Monday, September 22, 2008 0 comments
An online dating site can be a good avenue for those who are looking for some spice in their lovelife. The good thing about online dating sites is that it gives the user to pick the man or woman of her preference such as men who like Black Babes than Latina beauties. This men only needs to check sites that is solely a place for Blacks to meet and chat like blackscene.com. Hence, it gives people the free hand in choosing which ones to date and not only rely on the overrated word called destiny.

Bought New Gym Clothes

Posted by The Queen Bee at Monday, September 22, 2008 0 comments
I got home a little late than usual because I decided to drop by the mall after work. Instead of buying what I had originally intended to buy, I ended up shopping for new gym clothes. It's high time to go back to the gym because like I said, I am no longer my slender self. I managed to uphold a bigger version of myself during the past 4 months or so that I took a hiatus from working out. And frankly, it doesn't feel a bit good. My clothes hardly fit and my feet feels like it could no longer carry my weight. I suspect that if it could only talk, it will be slashing me with endless bickerings on how heavy I am. Well, well, well... I only hope I'll get back into shape before Christmas so that I will be lean enough to have more room for food. bwahahaha... just kidding!

Only for the Shopaholics

Posted by The Queen Bee at Monday, September 22, 2008 0 comments
Whether shopping online or offlline, one would always opt for a one-stop shopping destination where he or she can find different stores. This is because jumping from one place to another can be time-consuming and tiresome especially when shopping for a gift to give to a loved one.

For shoppers, finding the best deals and the best buys bring ultimate satisfaction as it means getting their money's worth. This is precisely the reason why
Shopwiki.co.uk has far more stores than the usual online shopping sites.

Speaking of shopping, this can be a great time to start making your list because Christmas is already near.

I Love Siomai

Posted by The Queen Bee at Monday, September 22, 2008 0 comments

This is one of my all-time favorite food, Pork Siomai. This is my only favorite dimsum food and it can be super delicious when dipped in hot chili sauce mixed with kalamansi and soysauce. Mmmm...yummy!

Siomai is a chinese dimsum recipe. Variations include pork, beef, shrimp to name a few, mixed with minced carrots and spices and then wrapped in a molo wrapper before it is cooked in steam.

The best pork siomai that I would recommend is that of Mandarin. It's the best siomai that I have tasted. This can be eaten with rice or you can munch it as it is.

My Friend Gen

Posted by The Queen Bee at Friday, September 19, 2008 0 comments
It took me several minutes and a closer look to finally recognize the girl who's waving at me. It was Gen, my former classmate in High School. She looked so different from wayback because she has gained so much weight. But like the old Gen that I know, she still loves to talk about guys. This time, she told me that she likes dating Jewish Men which she meets at jsingles.com. It's no wonder why she's still unattached because she's so choosy when it comes to men. She changes her mind so quickly. Well, I just hope my friend will finally meet the man of her dreams this time.

Saturday is Pamper Day

Posted by The Queen Bee at Friday, September 19, 2008 0 comments
It's Saturday which means its time to do some self-pampering. On top of my list of today's activity is a treat for my feet. It gets so battered with the whole weeks' wearing of high-heeled shoes plus the big deal of walking it did yesterday at the hospital. It must have walked a thousand miles, poor feet!

I am also planning to do something nice for my hair since I got envious of my sister's new fabulously shiny hair after she had a semi-rebonding session at the salon yesterday. However, I learned it will take more than 3 hours so it depends if I still have time left since I have plenty of assignments to do. But surely, I will never miss a trip to the mall today and probably a nice cup of coffee this evening. Those are the things I always look forward to.

Finding South Africa

Posted by The Queen Bee at Friday, September 19, 2008 0 comments
Africa has always sounded so mysterious to me. Maybe it's because of the fact that it is such a faraway place from my country. As such, I have always wanted to know more about South Africa as I get to hear about it mostly when they mention Angelina Jolie and her charitable works.

To satisfy my curiosity, I often browse for Top South African Websites at talkreviews.co.za. I am more comfortable using this site since its the users who Write a Website Review since I believe there's nobody more credible when it comes to website reviews than the users themselves.

Sanitary Napkins with Ion

Posted by The Queen Bee at Friday, September 19, 2008 0 comments

Has anyone heard about these napkins and panty shields that claim to have ions that have therapeutic effects on its users?

Our neighbor conducted a demo to compare the more popular brands of napkins in the market against her product called Anion. Based on the demo, I was convinced that it is really twice absorbent than that of the two leading brands of napkin combined. I saw with my own eyes how it has absorbed a glass of liquid while the two brands of napkin did not even if the two were put in the same glass.

However, with regards to its therapeutic claim like testimonies from a lady who was spared from a scheduled operation for myoma and a boy with scalded skin was restored to its original state because of using the ion strip in the napkin, that I cannot comment on. The napkin is expensive compared to that of the regular brands as it costs Php 25.00 a piece while their pantyliners sell for Php 10.00 a piece. Pretty expensive for the ordinary filipino. But like they say, there is no harm in trying. So I bought a pack which costs Php 300.00 not because I was convinced but more because of the fact that she put so much effort in trying to convince me. Hehehe...

Froggy Thoughts

Posted by The Queen Bee at Friday, September 19, 2008 0 comments

I went to the mall yesterday looking for a wallet when I was disturbed by the sight of a wallet that has the shape of a frog! In fact, it could be really a frog skin that it was made of.

I saw it in one of Jessica Soho's segment in her Saturday night show. The make wallets and bags out of frog's dried skin. No matter how ugly those creatures are, they play a vital role in keeping balance in our ecosystem. Poor frogs! It's probably one of the reasons why I no longer hear them kokak on rainy evenings. I will never patronize those products if that's the only way I can save the other frogs from extinction. What if one of those frogs could have been that handsome prince?! Sad thought. I think the same goes for other animals, I would never want to buy those expensive stuffs they brag about just because it was made of some poor animal's skin or fur. How about you?

Some Scenes at the Airport

Posted by The Queen Bee at Friday, September 19, 2008 0 comments
We were thirty minutes ahead of time for my sister Jenny's scheduled arrival at the Airport. She supposed to arrive at 1:45pm and so we were there as early as 1:15pm. It was so hot outside so we decided to stay in the car. Different scenes can be seen in the airport. There were passengers in a hurry trying to catch their flight, people exchanging sad goodbyes or people who are so happy to see a loved one whom they have not seen for quite a long time. However, one scene caught my attention. It is that of a young father with a baby sling attached to his one year old boy. Having a baby sling is such a great idea.

This was a new and refreshing sight as I am only used to see mothers with Baby Slings to carry their babies. And the ones that I saw are of the same type. When I saw that young dad, I was amused to see his baby sling as it was like that of a kangaroo's pouch. Speaking of Kangaroo, I am reminded of my sister again since I promised to treat her to Kangaroo, it's a coffee shop which she hasn't checked yet. It's past 2:20pm and the plane has not arrived yet, the flight must have been delayed because it's been raining hard in Manila for a couple of days now. At 2:45pm, the plane has finally landed and after a few minutes, I saw my cute sister Jenny whom I missed so much.

Great Book: Kokology

Posted by The Queen Bee at Friday, September 19, 2008 0 comments
Last Weekend, my sisters and I had a trip to National Bookstore. It's been quite a while since I last indulge in a good book. The last one I read was Eleven Minutes by Paolo Coellho which I borrowed from fellow blogger, Shieryl. My sister love to read books about personal development and so we searched first the psychology and self-help section of the bookstore.

We found a great book that's all about self-discovery. The book is entitled "Kokology: More of the Game of Self-Discovery by author, Tadahiko Nagao and its creator, Isamo Saito. Since the first book was a success, there is a sequel to it which is also entitled Kokoly 2. We bought both 1 and 2. When we got home, we immediately sat on the book. The book is like a question and answer game where in you get to answer one question (mostly situational) by choosing one among a set of choices of answer. The answers that you choose have a corresponding psychological analysis that help you discover more of yourself. The book is fun for two or more people as it is a great way to get to know not only yourself but also other people. Grab your copy now as I guarantee this is one fun book.
